ADSL Modem - Dead - Help!!

Hi

I have a Meccer ADSL Modem (usb), it was working fine untill this morning, I restarted the pc and now the modem is dead, both the power(pwr) and link lights are off. If I unplug and then plug it in again the power light flashes about three times and then goes off.

I'm not sure if the Modem got struck by lightening as we had quite a bad storm here on Sunday, although it was working till this morning so I don't think it could be that.

I called telscum adsl support and the guy said that he has logged the fault as it could be a problem at the exchange even though I told him the the modem doesn't come on, stupid Telscum.

Any ideas what the problem is, modem fried or something else ??

Well does anyone have a second hand ADSL Router/Modem that I can buy, maybe a spare one lying around, please let me know ASAP.

I'm in North West, but that shouldn't be a problem, what modem & price??

It's a telkom modem == yours for the postage.

ETA: it might be faster for you to go to your local telkom shop tomorrow: they can give you a router or modem, and you can pay it off over 6 months. The payments will be added to your monthly telkom bill.
