Some time back I noticed that my modem/connection is not being reset every night.
When I asked my ISP about this, they said that SAIX does not do this automatically anymore. This was around the beginning of this year.

Now during the past 2 months I have been pulling out my hair as every couple of days, my ADSL connection would just be unresponsive.
It showed that the line was still connected, but I could not do anything.
Resetting the router always worked.

I upgraded the software on the router but still the same.
Eventually I thought it was the router packing up, very old, and got a new one.
That worked fine for a week and then started with the same problems again.

Now today I got totally fed up with all the bull and started phoning Telscum and my ISP.
Eventually found somebody at the ISP that had an answer.

According to him, as SAIX is not resetting the lines every 24 hours, everybody has to do this manually. Now I found this very strange. Nothing at all anywhere tells me that I have to manually reset my modem every 24 hours.

Does this mean that everybody on the SAIX network with a dynamic IP have to manually reset their ADSL routers every 24 hours?

Please help, I am getting bald :(

Well, maybe I read those ^^ posts wrong, but for one they are all old and then it is only that they are complaining about the automatic line resets.
Did i miss something there?
