Hi guys

If you are experiencing the same (and can still acces sthe site through another connection :D), please give feedback.

Hmm I'm in bloem and the adsl here, at least in my area, has been very unstable none of the people that I know was able to connect yesterday and today it was out for about 2 hours.

In sandton last night my connection was up and down, along with really slow speeds when up.

Cant say wether its up at the moment as I'm at work. Got a mail from IS, though, saying that telkom are having a problem with their DSLAM in sunninghill.

Yup

Hi,

I'm in Rivonia, got 5 x 1mb lines. This morning when I came in I noticed that there was CD but no sync. Called Telkom and no problem of course.. but subesquently they admitted to it.. Looks like a fault at the DSLAM...

I'm now working on 2 x 3G (MTN and Vodacom) and waiting for Telkom to get things sorted....

The Benoni exchange has been up and down as well... as has been discussed here http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=35874

And its a general telkom and exchange issue as far as i can tell - not related to ISP bandwidth capacities. My IS account as well as my TelkomInternet account were equally dead.

Had the problem here in Pretoria from about 16h30. Back up now just really sluggish with some sites

I'm in Bryanston - lines been slow all week but today its almost dead - that goes for both local as international sites. Phoned telkom but ofcourse nothing wrong on their side - so it has to be my hardware acording to them. They will send out a tech if I want but ofcourse the charge will be on me as its my hardware thats faulty????
Really getting enough of these Telkom idiots.

just got my ADSL yesterday. Had intermittent problems and thought it was installation...it works fine now. I live in Linden--JHB.

Couldnt this be something to do with Koeburg ;) (lol, joking)

It could be related, Koeburg had a Bolt in the generator.
I think Telkom have a Nut in the exchange. ;) lol.

MOD NOTE: POLL ADDED

I suspect something bigger is going on. My DSL connection went down for a full day this past week in Centurion. Telkom is doing something to the system nationwide if I am allowed to guess.

ADSL was down for the entire day yesterday at the office (Wendywood/Sandton). Went to visit a friend today in Randburg and he said his line was down for most of yesterday as well. I wasted 40 minutes on the phone to a telkom techie, trying to explain to him that it wasn't my router that was the problem :/

Glipsie

Rivonia too, CD but no connection the internet, causing havoc installing a new line for a company there, wasted about 30 man hours on something that Telkom did/happend to them.

Business users gets no preference, my home line is usually fixed within 30 minutes of me calling them at 6pm at night!

Appauling

Having major connection problems in Benoni area since Thursday on both IS and Telkom. Download speeds are erratic...
Uploads non existant! FTP transfers a couple of packets and then times out (Tested on 3 different servers)
Spent an hour on the phone to telkom support and they deny theres a problem... Seriously frustrating! Anybody out there with a quick fix?

Telkom need to wake up and offer better service
