ADSL prices drop

Yeh for that $15 I would get 3 or 4 lines, not just 1.

Well, a good move would be no cost for DSLAM connection - but thats a pipe dream that would probably only be corrected with healthy competition.

You might note, that a price decrease doesnt mean less money for Telkom - infact it will allow more demand for the low end products - and more people will push their line speed up (because the price difference between what they were paying, and what a higher package costs now is much less)

Not a price reduction

I'm refering to the "Completely Cut off after hitting your Cap" thats going to be announced soon...
Exactly --- it's not a price reduction if they also reduce the service they provide at the same time! "Hey look, we're dropping our prices - but oh yes, you're also getting much less too".

Either way, they're still ridiculously insanely overpriced. It's easy to reduce prices by 18% when you're more than 500% overpriced.

lordhaha - they mentioned CAP on local/international, they never mentioned a completely cut off.

I still think telkom will cap local to 64k or the likes, just to piss of enough users but still have a "usuable" service. For home users this wouldnt be to bad, for companies it will really screw them.

Or am I just being wishfull? ;-)

See, thats the thing. They think (or businesses think) they're the saviors (or being saved) by this price reduction. But the mentality for "less for more" will soon show and cripple us even more.

Not that you have to choose Telkom ISP as your service provider :)
