It's also pointless moaning about the speed...
International roaming has low priority, as well as packages like Kazaa, Grokster, etc.
International email has to lowest priority.

This is all because Telkom is too "schnoop" to buy more bandwidth and there is only one pipe going to the US, which is then going to the UK, which is our main bottle neck.

ADSL priorty was placed for Forex traders only, so these guys get all the benefit from ADSL, and us small time guys suffer.

ADSL was not meant for the home user who wants to download games, warez and eval software.

Ever complained about your line dropping? Try and get Telkom to sort it out.
And don't EVER use their equipment - they use cheap stuff, add 300% margin and then try and tell you that your ADSL equipment has to be ICASA "approved". NOT!!!!

From what I know, ADSL is routed directly to the UK, not via the US.

I would like to know the source of your information in terms of FOREX traders having priority. That would be interesting to see how they achieved that.

As far as i know, prioritisation is done on HTML, PoP and FTP on a global basis and not specifically for international. I would again like to know the source of this information as it would give me a better idea in terms of how they shaped the network.

There are many other things beside games, warez and evul software that are downloaded, as so many people have already said on this forum. There are many other things such as on-line gaming which requires the low latency offered by ADSL. So this argument does not hold.
