ADSL problems explained

Now that might explain my I couldn't get to my Volvo Ocean race virtual boat last night... Except that, no wait, if I used MTN 3G it was fine...

Why does a remote Hong Kong network issue impact ADSL users specifically? That's out there in international land...

Anyone in the trade know why MTN 3G would be okay and Telkom ADSL not?
 
And, www.TelkomSA.net has a notice about this on their home page.

They have faults listed there ... but .. not this fault.

I have not noticed a thing :/ weird... My service has been excellent the past week.
 
Why does it take so long to come up with a rubbish excuse like this?
 
... and we had line synch problems as well to top it all off :( Telkom say they are going to drop us to a lower speed... they are not interested in fixing the line even though it has been synching fine for the past year.

... and to top it all off... our Neotel backup didn't work.... been on the line to them as well... and waiting for them to call back :mad:
 
Aparently a cable carrying 20 000 telkom lines were cut ordamaged during construction works in Lynwood? Is this true?
 
...and Telkom will refund all ADSL users at a rate of 3/31 * ADSL Line Rental....
 
My wife is very upset about all the disconnects...she plays spades online (USA) and during tournaments she would suddenly get disconnected, not once or twice only, many times, and it kills her game completely. Same thing this morning. Very irritating !!!
