Hey guys

Any ideas why my ADSL keeps going off? When I login to the router it shows me:

DSL UP
Downstream / Upstream (Kbps) 0/0
Internet Connected

To reconnect, I just software restart the router.

The line seems good, and I get full line speed all the time.

Could it be the router? Its the white telkom one.

Hey, I had the same problem for about 2 days last week. It was really annoying becasue I was trying to download something and didnt use a download manager so I basically wasted a gig.

Seems to have sorted itself out now. It isnt disconnecting anymore.

mmm, what router are you using? Anyone else have this on a WR300?

This is not too good. Does it stay at 9, or does it fluctuate?

Between 9 and 10. Every time i goto the modem status page, the damm thing locks up, and i have to hard boot it.

Is there a better firmware out there?

I think its your Downstream Margin which is the problem of your 'disconnects'
Your line loses sync once that figure falls to low.
I know for instance on my line I'm currently sitting at about 19db Downstream. In my case if it drops below 10db I tend to get disconnects.
It's all about the amount of 'noise' on your line, it tends to be badly affected by wind, rain etc.

mmm, it use to do it when i was on 384. Exactly the same now. I figured it would just sync at the most stable speed.

Do you think a different router will make a diff? I can get the Eddimax for about R460. At least it will not crash everytime i check the status...
