Wow! Everything up to this point gave Telkoms current way of doing things the thumbs up but this....
5. Port Prioritisation
Telkom, SNO and ISPs shall not be allowed to impose port prioritization on their subscribers.
COMMENT:
This is the first real issue dealt with in a concrete manner.
This is good:
7. 24 Hour ADSL Service reset
7.1. Telkom, SNO and ISPs shall not periodically reset the ADSL service.
COMMENT:
It is a network change that can be implimented now.
This is pretty significant too.
3.4. Local bandwidth usage not be subject to the cap.
COMMENT:
Over all there are disapointing aspects to this but look at the positives. No port prioritization, Local bw not accounted for in cap and semi permanent IP. These things are easily enforced and measured. Most files will be mirrored locally. Its good for gamers and skype users too.
Whens this meant to come into force? Are ICASSA going to enforce it? If its now then Im sure all the companies out there are in breach of these regulations.
