Hi,

Please can someone assist me, im looking for a router to cover a house completely.
Assume router has to be down stairs more so to one side of the house than central. The house is 640m2, 320m2 down stairs and 320m2 upstairs. Assume price is no object please can u advise me accordingly

Regards

maybe on of these? one of the better ones out there but still not sure if it will cover you whole house.

Asus RT-AC3200 Tri-Band Wireless Gigabit Router

It is highly unlikely that a single router will cover two stories, through walls, in an under-roof property of that size. You will always have "dead-zones" in all likelihood. Your best bet would be to use a wireless modem-router with another wireless AP upstairs.

The TP Link Archer D7 has really good range, but as Crystal Web and I found out yesterday, is giving us a massive headache setting up the ADSL

thanks for the reply's, i'm looking at Asus RT-AC3200 Tri-Band Wireless Gigabit Router. Mind suggesting an extender combo that should be able to cover 95% of the property.

( i assume Asus RT-AC3200 Tri-Band Wireless Gigabit Router should have more range than TP Link Archer D7 or am i wrong? )

regards

Go for a mikrotik router - one of their wireless routers or even better get a proper omni antenna and a mikrotik metal to use as an AP.

The neighbors will probably see your signal. Also to remember the devices have to be able to talk back to the antenna. Usually when 2 or more walls are in the way, you are going to experience degradation in signal.

Or if you aren't too fussed, VOX offers vox aura - managed wifi - setup 2 or 3 of these devices in your house and ever any problems or changes required all will be done for you.

I wou;dn't suggest an extender - they're very hit and miss. Another wireless router connected via ethernet cable will do the trick.
