ADSL Router and Load Shedding

I can't find a previous thread about it (searching on this site is just silly), but I'm sure it has been discussed before.

I need a cost effective way to keep my ADSL router up for at least 2 hours during load shedding.

Would a normal UPS do the trick and how long would that last? I have a 600VA UPS that lasts about 20 minutes with a PC connected to it, so with just a router, would it last 2 hours?

Or is there any other way of doing it?

Are you sure that your Telkom exchange will stay up during load shedding? I know my exchange does not, so it would be pointless getting an UPS.

It should...I can't confirm, but I'm sure it should. My father's line stays up when he fires up the generator.

My exchange does. I have my router & a few low power devices connected to a 2500vah UPS, so when there's load shedding there's at least internet & I can keep my phone charged

I have an Eaton 2000Va UPS that keeps my router, network and cordless phone going for more than 4 hours during load shedding.
(and could probably do more...)

Not all. Mine dies after about 20mins into load shedding.

Which exchange ? I'm connected to a mini DSLAM (Beacon Bay), think the backup batteries are shot.
