Hi Guys,

I have a 4 port wireless (even though I don't use the wireless and it is disabled) Billion W40 router, I have 3 PC's connected to it (Myself, my son and my wife). the problem I seem to be having is that when 1 pc (mostly usually my pc but also sometimes my son's PC but never usually my wife's pc) either goes into sleep mode and I wake it up or I switch my PC off altogether, It seems to spike the router and it basically resets itself or loses sync with the ADSL line.

I was wondering if maybe the problem could be the type of power supply, maybe they are not strong enough) in our pc's that are causing this to happen? We did buy the PC's prebuilt and I was thinking if they used the lowest type of power supply they could to save costs.

The other options were maybe it was the network cards, or the router itself?

Does anybody have any ideas what could this to happen

This sounds like a really bad power connection.
Check that all the plugs are firmly inserted, sometims 2-pin plugs are not properly seated.

If you have some sort of cheap multiplug I'd suggest you get rid of it ASAP and buy a more robust device as you may well have a fire hazard.

Otherwise get an el-cheapo switch and plug it in front of your modem.

these multiplugs and adaptors you buy at pick 'n pay and spar are all cheap undergrade chinese rubbish. They're good enough for one pc but if you're running 3 pc's off one of them...well its not a bright idea. I lost 2 power supplies and a mainboard from one of those. Rather go down to a pc store and buy a quality one because it does sound like a power issue. I also have a wireless Billion router and if it loses power it loses its config which is extremely annoying.
