Hi

I currently have a 20mb Vdsl line, but I have a fon router from Mweb that is constantly dropping connection! I am looking for a Vdsl router that won't have this issue but this search is tuning out to be very difficult. My main question is if I get an Adslv2 router how much would my speed be reduced?

You can't use an adsl router on vdsl.

Not even on adsl2+ mode? I thought that it is possible but you will be limited to 20Mbps download speed and 1Mbps upload speed. I could be wrong though.

Any telkom branch stocks the pace 921 and webafrica has zyxel vdsl modems.

If you ask telkom to change line tonadsl and go 2+ then 20 down and 1 up is max. With vdsl you could get 40 down and 4 up.

If the line is on VDSL modulation I don't think a ADSL2+ router is able to sync

Ohh ok. I was just wondering because I currently have a 10Mbps line on adsl2+. When I disable that mode and force it to G.DMT is syncs @ the max rate there which is 8Mbps. I though it might work the same with VDSL where if you are on 20Mbps VDSL and disable the VDSL mode it would sync @ 20Mbps ADSL2+

I tried to sync on G.DMT on my modem and it doesn't, only ADSL2+ and a reminder to others, no VDSL infrastructure where i am ...yet :).
