ADSL Setup

Hi All,

Getting tired of 3G and currently applied for line activation in my house which telkom promised they would come out tomorrow.
I would like a wireless setup in such a way that at least 4 devices are able to connect to the internet at the same. I live in a duplex, would a single wireless router be able to handle this?
Also better to place it at the top floor or bottom?
What equipment would you recommend?
I am currently looking at the 4mbps uncapped line from mweb. Is it any good for gaming? Play a lot of starcraft 2 so just some advice on latency on the mweb. Also got a PS3 upstairs that will need to connect to the network.

single wireless router should be fine. Can always lay ethernet cable for more reliable, more permanent connections.

4mb ADSL great for gaming, ISP dependent of course.

Experiment with different placement of router to see which gives your devices best signal strength on average. Depends on the details of walls and other obstructions.

Thanks for the advice. I got my voice line activated and been reading the forums a bit and see that it is better to keep the ADSL line rental with Telkom due to technical support issues. Going to apply for 4mbps line.
Can anyone advise how the uncapped package vs capped package will differ in latency & speed. Been hearing a lot of complaints about the uncapped packages being heavily shaped. Is MWEB the way to go? Better alternatives?
Also quite worried about the wifi router modem not being able to penetrate the middle concrete to the second floor since it is quite thick and has a different composition to a normal vertical wall (structural support, Noise proofing, etc?). Anyone has a duplex type of setup that they can recommend. Reason I want to place it at the bottom is because that is where most of the adhoc internet activity will be but the main desktop & the PS3 will be on the top floor.

Eish, just called telkom to apply for 4mbps line and they say my exchange only supports 512. Anyone in Winchester Hills EXT3 that is using 4mb line?
