Hi

I am constantly disconnected from ADSL (6 - 10 times per hour). My OS is Windows 98 SE (for various parctical reasons) and I have a Marconi ADSL USB Pots modem. Any help with this problem?

.

Get a diecent ADSL ETHERNET ROUTER.

I really recommend the Linksys WAP54g if you have the money on you.

Win98 and a macaroni rooter (sic). The only rung below that on the ladder of life would be if you also had TelkomInternet.

But, joking aside, get the LinkSys mentioned above, or a billion or netgear router.

Pick up your phone, dial a single number to clear the ready tone, and listen to hear if you have any kind of noise on your line.

I had heavy crackling on my line that was causing huge amounts of disconnections.

I had a similar problem with my connection dropping a couple of times per hour. Have you checked your telephone line.I had my telephone lines (with ADSL connection) replaced this week due to squirrels chewing through them!
