ADSL stats ok?

Depends on the DSLAM that you are on. The older DSLAMs Telkom installed only supports G.DMT (aka ADSL 1). The newer DSLAMs support ADSL2+ and in their testing areas (mostly pretoria) they now also support VDSL.

Ah I see thanks, well I was the first in my area to want ADSL and we were told by Telkom that out exchange didn't have ADSL capability so about 5 years ago they upgraded the exchange to support ADSL. As long as it will take 1mb I will be happy thanks.

yes but your router will switch to adsl 2 if it can support it and dslam does.

unless you tell it to use g.dmt only.

While the G.DMT protocol can do 8mbit/sec, if the DSLAM is a ADSL1 DSLAM Telkom's system will limit it to 4mbit.
