ADSL Up/Send usage ratio

Hi everyone

I'm trying to solve some usage issues and would really appreciate any helpful info. If you were to theoretically download 5 Gb for the day ( nothing being sent by the user - just downloading ) how much send or up usage would that equate to? I see that even if I do not send anything, just download, that I still have up/sent usage for the day.

I understand that this would be network overhead, but is there a solid percentage - like say 10% (for argument's sake) ?

Depends really. Just checked my logs and the days that my uploads were the lowest the ratio is about 2% - 3%.

I run backblaze on my server and everything should be backed up now, but sitting at around 10%. Thanks again.

Hi There,
You are always going to see up usage as it has to acknowledge the messages received. Also if this is a torrent then you becoming a seeder as soon as you start downloading so there will be additional traffic there.
I checked some of my downloads and 2-10% seems fairly normal
