Hope someone can help. I have a netbook with Vista installed. I can connect to wireless networks everywhere else but at home where I have ADSL. Any suggestions?

Not enough information mate!!

What brand and model router are you using?
Is the wireless enabled on the router?
Can you find the wireless network in the Networks list?
What have you done so far to try and connect?

I assume it is on - as all the details are in the router site. I do succeed in connecting however it is local only.

Are you sure you are not capped?

Anyway, try connecting an ethernet cable to the router and laptop, then see if you are able to browse all sites. Doubt that's the problem though. Are you sure you are connecting to your router and not someone elses??

Answer the questions in my above post...

I can connect to broadband using cable.

What brand and model router are you using? Netgear .. DG834GUV5
Is the wireless enabled on the router? Yes..light is on steadily
Can you find the wireless network in the Networks list?..Yes

change your ssid then setup security option to disable just for testing report back

this is mostly to test if modem wireless is working

I don't know what you tried, but your Wireless IP settings seemed correct, except for the fact that you had BOTH LAN & WiFI connected to the same gateway (router) at the same time.
Your WiFi did get an IP, Gateway & DNS - so the routing should work correctly via wireless. Was your WiFi's IP address settings set to automatically detect? If it were, then I would guess that your Internet should work - unless the DNS servers you're using on the router has issues, which would cause both LAN & WiFi failing to load webpages.

Also note that Windows Vista/7 won't say that you have Internet connectivity if you don't have international bandwidth/cap left.
