Hello - New here - so bear with me and forgive me if this has already been discussed

512 ADSL installed 2 days ago - works great - I am only having a problem with connecting wirelessly with my HP notebook - Cannot find any wireless network connections - I am using a Telkom ADSL 5102G router - Any help would be appreciated - Thanks in advance

Have you configured the router yet?

try enabling "SSID broadcast"

Yes I have enabled "ssid Broadcast" - In fact it was enabled when I had a look - When telkom first installed my line they left me with a Marconi Router which stopped working the same night - Telkom support asked me to go and swap it for another router - They suspected software corruption on router - The interesting fact is that when I had the Marconi router installed - My notebook immediately found the wireless network - which is now making me think that I will have to swap this router as well - The fact that the Marconi found the wireless connection means that the setup on the router is fine - If anyone has a working 5102G router working wirelessly - I would like the settings in the wireless section of the router so that I could compare - Thanks

If all your settings are as you have set them then from your notebook if you view available connections it should automatically apear. Alternatively you could add a preferred network under your Wireless Connections options window in the properties section of your wireless network connection. Make sure your WEP keys match etc. If uve done that and u still cant connect it could either be a prob with that router (try a diff laptop etc) or a prob with the actualy wireless card onboard the laptop. Make sure your wireless is 802.11g compatible, if its 802.11b only it wont work. I do know of certain problems with compatibility of some wireless cards and access points not having the same frequency and thus will prevent connectivity.

Hello Headstrong and Survo - Thanks for your input - My problem has been sorted out - It was a faulty Router - Had it swapped out and everything is now working - Thanks again
