ADSL with PrepaidFone

Hi

I'm sorry, I couldn't use the search function. I don't know which is the only company in SA that supplies ADSL lines. Ok, that's out of the way.

I'm at the point where I want to order ADSL, but of course, I need a residential line first. While I was looking through the installation options and costs on the Telkom website, I saw the PrepaidFone option at about half the price of the residential line and that made me wonder whether it would be possible to save those extra few rands and get that instead of the other one. My reasoning why I would get the PrepaidFone revolves around the fact that I do not use my Telkom line for anything but the ADSL.

In short, is it possible?

Adsl is not available on Prepaid lines, you would need a normal telephone line without anything like ISDN or anything.. just straight forward Telkom landline..costs like R114pm I think.
 
hi man

i am in the same situation, i want dsl but without the phone line. So i ordered a Wimax install from telkom, that way i dont have to pay for the telephone line i just pay the R240 rental for the Wimax line and equipment.

you can order it without having an existing landline, just tell those idiots at the telkom call centre to make a new account for you and you only want the Wimax connection.
