Do you still get old style adverture games?

I used to play: Future Wars, Operation Stealth, Cruise for a Corpse, Flashback, Loom, Indiana Jones, Monkey Island etc

What modern games do we have in this genre?

Speaking of Monkey Island , it's coming..again..soon:

Summer 2009: http://www.lucasarts.com/games/monkeyisland/

[Guybrush meets a talking skull]
Murray: I'm a powerful demonic force! I'm the harbinger of your doom! And the forces of darkness will applaud me as I STRIDE through the gates of hell carrying your head on a pike!
Guybrush Threepwood: Stride?
Murray: All right then, roll! ROLL through the gates of hell. Must you take the fun out of everything?

Adventure Company - these games vary from absolute gems to not very good at all. IIRC the Adventure Company acts as a distributor for various independant developers.

I would echo Jabberwocky's sentiment regards "Grim Fandango". If you haven't played this one yet ,where have you been ???

Adventure Company games I enjoyed:
Black Mirror
Broken Sword
Dark Fall2
Wanted: A wild western adventure

Old old style games you may enjoy (I did ):
DOTT ( Day of the tentacle )
Gabriel Knight, sins of the father ( Nope, those dont work together )
Simon the Sorcerer - 1st 2 only ( keep UHS handy...)

Newer old style games I would highly recommend:
Runaway & Runaway 2 ( dream of the blue turtle )
Tunguska

and of course....

The longest journey 1 & 2 - don't even consider yourself an adventure gamer if you haven't at least played the 1st one.

I just came across The Adventure Company, http://www.adventurecompanygames.com/pc.php

Looks like my type of games, wonder how good they are.

Also see there are new monkey island games out.

They have a lot of great games, bought from them in the past. One of my favs that has been released recently...well about 5 years ago...was "The longest journey", loved the game.

If you can get your hands on any ol tex murphy games you would be in heaven, as well as gabriel knight (the beast within is my fav, but I have always loved games with FMV), then of course a mammoth of a game, also a bit old....The Black Dahlia
