Okay, I'm looking around for a half-way decent cordless mouse that is also suitable for gaming. But something a bit cheaper than the Logitech G7. It's hard shopping online, because the best way is still always to try it and feel it.
I've got big hands so something a bit bigger will be helpful and the usual three button mouse is more than acceptable. Any recommendations on what you're using?

Currently I'm using some Mecer and it's irritating me, but I'm not going corded - it doesn't suit my work/play environment.

Let me know what you find as I also battle a bit as I also have big hands.

I have a MS Laser 5000 wireless mouse but my fingers extend to far beyond the side buttons which is a pita.

I know what you mean - I feel like a crab around the normal-sized mouse, always grasping in. I'm sure it's not good. If I buy gloves, it's always XL and I'm skinny,

Why not corded? Using the G5 and it's decent size, but corded. Best mouse since sliced bread!

Yeah stay away from cordless dude. You're gonna break the mouse in time as it will fail when you need it most.... Murphy's Law :p

For G's sake, please read. I said NOT corded! If you're going to argue that position, then please don't post. This is about cordless mice!

CTFD dude. You don't like post, ignore and move on. We give advise anyway, whether you like it or not... ungrateful lame loser ....

Ooh yes, don't you love the cut and thrust of artful debate? The witty repartee?
The moment you throw personal insults, you lose.
I was trying to steer things back onto the topic. I'm still not interested in corded and unlike certain juveniles, I'm perfectly able to control my emotions - my current corldess is still going fine after a couple of years.
Spartaniz' comment is perfectly acceptable. His was clearly tongue-in-cheek 8-)

My favourite cheapie is a Logitech LX8. nice materials and not too heavy.
MX610 if you like something right handed.

MX1100 is proabaly the best cordless mouse available.

Stay away from any mouse not using 2.4Ghz, they tend to chow batteries. The reason I won't recommend Microsoft Mice

Thanks. My current research seems to trend towards the MX 1100 for the size. For pure gaming the G7 seems to be the knees - but I don't want to spend the price for either if I can avoid it (+/- R800-900). I'll have a look at the LX8. You're right about the battery issue. I'm 100% rechargeables these days but still have to frequently change. Wouldn't touch Microsoft, not just on principle, but also on rep.

Ponder: you asked for feedback and here it is. I bought a Logitech MX 1000 mouse second hand and also a Logitech LX7 which was more than my budget, but what the hell and I didn't tell the wife.
The 1000 is a big mouse but really not that comfortable as it still requires you to "crab" in and it's a bit heavy. The LX7 is absolutely gorgeous, light and smooth and I use it almost exclusively for all applications. I really wish it was just a little bit larger but I've had no wrist or hand problems with it whatsoever. Because the tolerances in the battery compartment are so tight, I find a lot of rechargeables won't go in and I don't want to force them. But battery life is excellent - about three months in my case, but I'm using it more than twelve hours a day.

I just bought a wirless keyboard and mouse, i cannot stress how crap the mice is.

I will never buy a wireless mouse or keyboard every again, the keyboard is fine but the mouse lags which makes you want to die.

I put in a 50 bucks mouse and i am far happier with corded mice

I ended up getting a Prestigio Optical Racer Mouse. http://www.prestigio.com/products/Racer-Collection/Mice/Optical-Racer-mouse

Very happy with it although it does not seem much bigger than my previous mouse it's definately wider and very comfortable. The good part was it was extremely cheap.

Try the mouse I got, it's better than a Logitech MX518 or MX310 and I think I only payed R150 for it.

Cool find and I'd also like to know where you got it from. Its design and ergonomics look very similar to the MX 1000, which I barely use these days.

Logitech MX5500 set, bluetooth, - does it for me. I think it's the MX revolution mouse
Just a note that when the batteries are low (even though there is no warning), then you have a problem with the connection to PC.

You get what you pay for. The thread started about me wanting an extra large (XL) mouse for larger hands that had to be cordless, which suits me and my work environment. The (R800?) LX7 is brilliantly responsive for my needs which are mostly work and a fair amount of gaming, although never online. I'm too old to compete as my reactions are no longer what they were, but I would have absolutely slaughtered you on Asteroids 30 years ago. Not bragging either.

A cheap line mouse will probably do the job and good luck to you.
