Hey there,

I'm playing around in Far Cry online, and I enjoy a good shootem up session every now and then, but I'll admit it...I suck.

I'm playing on the Xbox 360, so I was wondering if there were any decent players out there that could give me some hints and tips on getting the best out of your game?

And I got the 'push left stick to walk, pull trigger to fire" thing all figured out guys, so you can skip that bit. :D

I cant even imagine trying to play let alone get good at a FPS on console - It simply FAILS!

If you want to play a FPS and not get your A$$ handed to you, play it on PC.

Keep your crosshair level, or on routine hiding places, strafe around walls(slice the pie), don't have a routine, learn your enemies routine, And most importantly... don't panic!

Lol, Thanks Jabberwocky, that was the most useful post :) Good ideas all. Expecially the finger pushups...now why didn't I think of that. Maybe go Old Master Yoda on my fingers.

"You must learn the ways of the Force if good FPS Gamer you want to be!"
"No try! Do! There is no try!"

I have found finding a spot and assuming I'm in a good spot doesn't work either....I have to relocate constantly.

Any online guides or how to's out there you are aware of?

Ok, well heres the thing, everybody sucks when they first play games?
Logic says that the more you play the better you will become (hopefully). What I do for my console FPSs is I first play the storyline until I feel comfortable with the controls and that I can easily do whatever I want if I play online. So perhaps play the storyline to get more of a feel for the game?

Another thing is you cannot adjust the thumbstick sensitivity for most 360 FPSs so it might be a good idea to get some buddies over with their controllers and play offline with them for a while, theres nothing like some good competition to force you to improve.

I cant say Ive ever done anything on that list at all, its good advice, but it wont necessarily help you get better IMHO. But I believe the "dont panic" is probably the best advice in this whole thread so far :)

I am quite an experienced X360 player
Tips:
1) Maybe pick up a copy of Skate or Skate 2. The whole game is thumb stick orientated so you get the hang of things.
2) Practice practice practice!!!
3) Play on easier difficulties until it is too easy

Need gaming advice for first person shooters of x box 360?

I just bought an x box 360.i can play any first person shooter games on my PC but i cant on my x box 360.its just too tough on x box 360.can u give me tips to be better on my x box?usually how do u sprint in most of these first person shooting games?:)

+1. Kids these days spend more time gaming than on their school work...kinda sucks when a 10 year old destroys you round after round in CS...

yeah .i remember a bunch of kids at the telkom stand last year at r.a.g.e kicking my butt on crysis. damn anti-social kids.

If a kid is born out of a pc then you can expect it* to kick your ass. All they do is sleep breath and see pc games. It is sad. Same goes with chess. 14 year olds are grandmasters o_O!@#@#!

mostly your finger dexterity needs to increase; playing with a pad over mouse + keyboard is definitly allot harder. well imho anyways.

then from there practice, more offline first so you get your fingers smart and then online/offline :)
