Hi guys, any advice for a noob just starting out in WOW?

with regard to:
-Obtaining Game software
-Creating account
-Billing options
-Best sever to play with the least hassles

I'm currently using Blizzards 10 day free Trail account...

lvl 12 Night-Elf (Hunter)

I saw WOW classic @ CNA for cheap...Is It REALLY Worth it.
I'm just looking for something to keep me busy until StarCraft 2 is launched.

Thanks.

st2 will still be long so would be good thing to start wow so long, there is loads of s.a guys on lightbringer and twilight hammer, and roll horde they the best ;)

If you have a credit card maybe take a look at www.gamersloot.com
I know quite a lot of people who used this service and none of them have been disapointed.
After they confirm that you are making use of valid details via a phone call you will have your key in less than 10 minutes.

The software i would recommend getting from a friend or look for someone here in your area that can copy them to disc for you. IF you install from the disks u will be forced to download 5+gb of updates and its just not worth it. Billing options.. it does work out cheaper to use the blizzard subscription service if you have a CC, but buying a 60 month gamecard costs you R330 so R180 isnt so bad per month.

On the server part. If you wanna play alliance you more then welcome to join us on Lightbringer . We a majority south african guild with a growing member base, always willing to help and stuff. pm me if u keen.

For Horde theres also SA guilds on twilights hammer + lightbriner + spinebreaker

Advice: Horde are bad. Pick a PVP server and kill all Horde on sight :D

Lol agreed, Me and some other m8s play on Dragonblight EU - Alliance.
If you wanna start here give me a whisper to Colddeath / Frostydeath (either 1 I'm on) and I can help ya out with some info. :)

Good luck

Right...so here's an "Update"

Went to Look & Listen and bought WOW classic. Didn't bother with the other expansion sets, we'll see if i like it first...
WOW Classic and Burning Crusade
R120ea from Canal Walk....
WOTLK is still over 300 bucks ...
Installed software and downloading updates...
Everybody on earth besides me probably already knows this...but for those that don't...

THERE IS A 3.2 GIG UPDATE!...good lord...
So i should be able to play some time next year...
Took my pc to work to continue updating on the 4 meg line...(average d/l speed is 100.00 KiB/s)

Buying WotlK will cut down on the patches/updates you need to download. After that 3.2g's your gonna have to get the 1g odd new content patch going live next month some time

You're welcome to have a look here:

I think AcidRazor posted a link to the same guide (he asked to use it on his site), but there have been one or two updates to it on the forum above.

Also feel free to sign up at mygaming and post your queries/feedback. There are guys on there from all over who can help you with the game content.

There's another 500mb patch coming out and my current WoW folder is about 17gb big. You can simply copy the folder from someone without needing to install anything and run your account on it.

You could have saved yourself lots of hassles right there :)

Just copy the folder from somebody.
