Advice needed - internet problem during loadshedding

Or you can cut the wires and press it against your tongue, if it shocks you it means there should still be power.
I am becoming more and mor disillusioned about the members of this forum.
Is there any way to 'unlike' them?

Hi all,

Hope you are well!

I have bought a generator, and my router is on, however there is no internet. The light on the router for internet is not on, but the router itself has power.

My ISP is Afrihost.

What can I do to get internet? Am I doing anything wrong?

Thanks!!

In the past I've used a different AC Adaptor for a router than the specified one, and the router comes on, all the lights flicker to indicate traffic flow, but no internet. Ping could give transmit failed error. https://www.corenetworkz.com/2011/08/ping-transmit-failed-general-failure.html Could be what he said regarding the power given to said router. Any wireless network password issues, went bail. https://www.systosys.com/2019/07/find-wireless-network-password-using-windows.html

Other than that could be what the others said regarding your ISP having no power backup during a shed.
If the LED light for the Internet on the router is off, the problem is at ISP side. You should contact them. Are your neighbors having Internet connection from the same ISP face this issue?
