Ok, so we've developed a desktop application for a company that supports resolutions of 1024x768 upwards. (It works on 800x600, but everything obviously doesn't fit and it looks fugly).
Now with the deployment today 2 out of the 20 users are being very adamant about not wanting to change their resolution. They say it hurts their eyes and
they can't read anything on the screen.
Still need to play with dpi settings and see if that could provide a solution.

Any suggestions or thoughts?

Put theirs on 800x600,then redirect any support calls from them to their manager

Bigger screens? DPI will change the fonts, but knowing users they will just moan and complain anyway. How big are their current displays? Of course, if you were to upgrade two people, then suddenly everybody else will also have "sore eyes"....

Ok well , how come this was not picked up earlier ? What kinds of testing have you guys done ? Was the users or a User Manager involved ?

How detailed is your Requirements Document ? At the end of the day it is the users that are going to use the application and if they are not happy there is a possiblity that they will not use it unless you can convince management to inform their users to change their settings etc , The last thing you want to do is damage your image as a company ...

Hey man, I had the same thing happen to me... The easiest way to get around it was to add scaling functionality to my application. It was designed for 1024x768 and higher as well so I added a setting that scales the forms and components when the form opens.

Not a lot of code.
