My internet connection is currently a terribly slow dial-up. I need a broadband solution that will allow me to reliably use skype for overseas calls.
Looking to spend under R500 per month, quite happy with 2GB cap.
Vodacom and MTN HSDPA looks good but will it be reliable?

If anyone has any advice to offer it will be much appreciated

If you want to use Skype then go with Vodacom. I think their HSDPA latency is better and they seem to more ok with people using VOIP.

The best latency is still via ADSL.

384 line + 3GB Cybersmart account will work fine. Comes to around R400pm and it'll work perfectly for Skype.

Ja, I would just go with ADSL. Its R245 + R125 so still under R400 and thats a 3GB cap. I don't know if I'd trust HSDPA for a good quality international call during the day.
