We're looking to install flat screen tv's in classrooms with the idea that the students can connect their devices to it for presentations. The idea would be that tbey can connect any type of device to it like mobile phones (android & apple), laptops and tablets. What would be the best route to go. Ideally they should be able to connect wirelessly to the tv screen and be able to display video content as well as images and other presentation applications.
I know that most tv brands like Samsung and LG have their own native applications built into their products but not sure how compatible it is between the various operating systems. Someone also mentioned Chromecast but I have had no experience with it.
Any ideas welcome.

High power projector with large screen for a school, not a monitor.

If you do get a TV make sure it has a cage so it is steal-proof. The 55" Hisense models from esquire are priced ridiculously well too

As for interfaces don't waste your time with wireless. What works for one student and his/her phone/tablet/pc will not work for the next student. Rather have some HDMI, microHDMI and a DVI+VGA plugs out and ready for use to plug into a laptop/tablet/phone

Thanks for the feedback everyone. In some areas there are projectors with the necessary white screens and DVI/VGA plugs. Also when I say classrooms, I don't mean a school. It's a company in-house training facility with about 8 classrooms which trains up their staff, so no cages are needed.
The general feeling is that with all this technology around us, why can we not make use of it and try and go wireless as far as possible. I am at the beginning of my research and so want to see what our options will be at the end of the day. MYBB with all it's clever and technically minded members, was my obvious first port of call. :)

That being said, over the weekend I came across a little device called an eBeam Edge+ by Lucidia. Very interesting device to use as multimedia whiteboards and more, and it's much cheaper than the proper multimedia whiteboards. Can also be used with projectors and TV screens. Check out http://www.e-beam.com and there's lots of videos on youtube about it. Also it is available in SA.
