i am new to the pc world and bought a p4 intel last year around july with 512mb ram, 160gb hard drive. thats all i know about it. i run ubuntu and recently installed windows on a 80g hard drive with bad blocks for games. i played need for speed underground and it sucked big time. i thus would like a graphics card and possibly a motherboard and it must be an nvidia graphics card. i am not a big gamer maybe that will change if it does i will get the wii. what card should i get? any advice would be welcome i want to put a request in the classifieds.Thank you

Looking at your spelling skills, I would suggest something from nvidia. Perhaps you could also enlighten us as to what letters were dropped between "n" and "vidia"?

What motherboard do you have? Does it have an AGP or PCI express Video slot?

I have a AGP slot with nividia 6600GT. Its old but does well with my AMD. :)

All I can say is get a card with GT on the end ;) He.. he.. my limited experience with the others have been bad.

Oh and up your ram to 1 Gig at least.

Hmmmmmmmmm, find out what your PC can upgrade too, what It can't take.
Best to ask a friend who knows PC's and ask him to explain to you why it can't do this or why it can do that... it's time to learn buddy!

These days, 1GB Ram is standard, I'd get 2GB if you can afford it, it never hurts to have more, and these days, DDR2-800 memory is CHEAP CHEAP!

A nice graphics card is a 6600GT PCI Express... but depending on what your budget is... spend nicely!

uhm... i dnt get the spellin thing. i have a asus phoenix motherboard. it has two pci slots and i think space for agp where i can solder it or somethin. i would ask my friends but they know as much if not less as me. thank you for your replies.
