I'm looking to buy a new laptop with the following as priority:
- Lightweight (must be under 2kg)
- Excellent battery life
- SSD
- Usb ports (at least one type A)
- 13" or 15" size screen

The following are being considered:
- Dell XPS
- HP Spectre
- HP Elitebook 820
- Acer Travelmate
- Macbook Pro (2016)

I know that I can just research online but I'd like users to advise and share experience with their current laptop.

I've got a Lenovo X240 with a DIY SSD upgrade that is still going strong after about 4 years.

The X250 and X260 look like good current options in that series.

Good selection but you don't say if it should have onboard or discrete GPU. You seem however to be wanting discrete graphics from those choices.

GPU not a priority. Discreet will be fine.

Depending on your budget Dell XPS or MacBook Pro.
For MacBook Pro you'll have to go for the previous generation if you are set on the USB ports, though they are much bigger than the 2016 ones on the other hand.
Speak to Flashgear here on the forum, he has plenty of good deals, mostly Dell.
