I need to buy a new ADSL router.
One good for gaming (I'm officially a BF3 addict now)
The one I have gets really hot so I popped the hood and bolted a fan bigger than itself to it... its stable but I don't trust it! - stupid Trendnet TEW-635BRM
And where?? ...I'm in pta and unless its an absolute bargain, wont buy outside pta.

Pleaze...

Routers get hot - that is not in itself a problem.

This one gets really hot! it smells... and after cooling it down it became more stable.
I had a Mega 200VWR before this piece a junk and that old giant box never had any problems ...until a lightning strike took out pretty much every intelligent device in the house.

Most resilient I ever had was the Netgear DG834. I have just recently switched to a DGND3700 (bloody expensive), but on the upside there is a noticeable improvement in download speed (on 4MB ADSL) and ever since I have switched, I have not encountered any lag in Mass Effect or any other PS3 online game.

Do you have one?

Nope, got the previous model. I sell quite a few though. Excellent value, performance, plus you have local telephone support Mon - Fri 8am - 10pm. It's funny how people often overlook the support part, too many a time have I seen people frantically posting on this forum at night for support after I recommended the D-Link's based on support in the first place. :p

Why do people need support like that??

I do favour Netgear, but it sounds like you had lag issues with the DG834 and that the DGND3700 doesn't?

Because they lack the technical inclination to set up networking products, of course.

But hey, D-Link support has even been handy for me!

Oh! I thought the product has issues.
It looks like a good deal and allot of features, but the features is actually scaring me off... more features, more to go wrong...
