Advice on these Air Purifiers needed.

I just received the GMC280AP from Takealot. I chose this one because of the features, remote, LED control panel, made in SA and it comes with a 2 year warranty (the Xiamoi only has 1 year warranty and I don't care about the Google Assistant integration).

There's a huge improvement in air quality, especially for someone with allergies (dust and pollen) so I'm very happy about this.

The unit is quite loud though. On the lowest fan speed there is an electrical hum that makes my ears want to "pop" like in an aeroplane and I have a feeling this will give me a headache. The Sleep Mode only turns off the lights, it doesn't reduce the volume. Maybe one would get used to the hum as white noise while sleeping but I don't really like the noise.

I'm not sure if this amount of volume is normal (they say less than 45db but I can't measure that) because many people praise the quietness of this product. Not sure how to proceed.

EDIT: just to be clear, it's an electric hum noise - not the fan. The fan sound is okay. On the second-lowest fan speed setting, the sound of the fan covers about 80% of the electrical hum. It's about the same as an aircon noise on low fan speed settings

Has anyone been able to get filters for the xiaomi mi air purifier 3h anywhere

A bit peeved that a R3k device is useless as no one sells the filters

Should have known going with a non major brand :/

I'm also curious about filters. I want to buy an air purifier but FIRST want to make sure I won't struggle to find replacement filters.
 
Any opinions on the Philips 800 series?

Bro whered u get this from. And does the purifier also work with dehumidifying the air and removing mold spores etc?

I got it off th MI store years back, it came with a HEPA filter that removes even viral particles from the air.

Sounds about right. My bedroom purifier stays around 18-20 most of the year.

Edit: I smoke various things in the bedroom. The lounge purifier is almost always at 5 to 7.
