I want to build a new pc and decided on the following components, please give your advice on this just better than entry level system.
Budget R5000

I must buy these;
ASUS AS-H81 Gamer Motherboard - Socket 1150
Intel Boxed Core i3 4330 - 3.50GHz Dual Core Processor - Socket 1150
2 of Transcend DDR3-1600 Desktop Dimm CL11 - 4GB....total 8GB

I have these;
S/Hand Thermaltake Litepower 450W bought 31 Dec 2012
New Gigabyte Nvidia GT 730 Graphics Card - 2GB

No prices for the parts?

I dunno how much that i3 is you mentioned but I can tell you if it's a new price you can get an i5 for cheaper if you source it from the right place.

EDIT: Soul Assassin took the wind out of my sails.

Thx guys, Takealot prices.
Mobo R 1,628 i want an ASUS.

What is your justification for that motherboard?
And damn, I remember black friday last year where that cpu was R1300 at takealot...

If you're planning on adding a GPU, I recommend staying away from H81. It lacks a PCI-E 3.0 slot.

If you're okay with PCI-E 2.0 then no worries. :)

Single card Gaming versus generational different PCIe slots

As the article has shown, if you use a single high-end graphics card then really, even the PCIe Gen 1.1 slot would be sufficient. Gen 2.0 is preferred and Gen 3.0 only brings in a marginal improvement. Pretty much everybody anno 2015 is on PCIe Gen 2.0 though, so if you are worried that performance is cut in half due to that faster PCIe Gen 3.0 slot, then think again in a modest 2 to 3% percent on average.

Do you agree?

Looks fine, a whole lot of bang for the buck.

EDIT: A single 8GB Corsair value ram stick would work out a bit cheaper (~R30) & give him the option to pop in another one later if he needs 16GB down the line.

I want an asus, and i like the slots.
Expansion Slots:
- 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x16 mode, gray)
- 3 x PCIe 2.0 x1
- 3 x PCI

That very expensive MB is gonna do zip for your systems performance.

Some alternative Asus H81 MB options,

Wait until you have warranty issues with Asus & you get dumped into the hell that is PartServe...

Do you think Gigabyte is a better option regarding warranty issues?
This asus has a lot of pci slots that the cheaper boards don't have.

I've had no bad experiences dealing with Rectron, heck for a small service fee they will even handle stuff that came from other distributors.

Ok, I see why you need all the ports.
