After five years with MWEB, I've decided to end my subscription with them. I had a 3GIG deal, but I used the 1 gig booster quite a lot.

I'm now wondering which way to go next.

1) Should I sign up with one of the cheaper ISPs. This will force me to fork out money to spend on a new modem/router, but I will ultimately save in the long run as their prices are a lot cheaper than MWEB.

2) Or should I maybe sign up for Broadband from MTN/Vodacom. I'm considering this as I might be forced to move places in a couple of months' time and then I will be forced to fork out more cash to get a new ADSL line from Telkom.

I actually haven't considered neotel. Last time I checked there was no coverage in my area. Will visit their website to check out prices and see if it's available in my region.

MWEB sucks so you made a good decision.

Why would you have to purchase a new router just out of interest? Or is it a MWEB branded router locked down with their own software?

Don't go cellular if you plan on using more than 500 meg a month, it is the most expensive (at least thats what I think - maybe some clever member will show me why they advertise cheapest broadband for your rand) :)

I have one of those speedtouch modems which came along with the 24-month contract I signed back in the day.
