Advice to help stop smoking

I sniff an allencarr spammer in our midst.

I find it hard to believe how nicotine is physically additive yet by reading a book you can magically change it into a mental thing. Anyone here of good reputation that has quit using this allencarr book?

I'm not so sure about the book but I went on the course and I'm now a happy ex-smoker for more than 4 years. Once you realise that smoking have absolutely no advantages it is actually easy to stop.

This worked for me! Quitting the hard way is sometimes the best way!

Ahh but thats the thing, going cold turkey in the greater picture is the easiest way
Like i said cutting down and replacement therapies only make it alot harder and prolong the withdraws !!

Think about nicorettes and ecigarettes keep feeding your body the drug ,nicotine.
Its like a heroine addicct saying hes gona quit heroine by smoking it instead on injecting it
Either way his body is still getting his fix.

I've also quit by reading allen Carr's book - been smoke free for a year and won't touch cigs again in my life.

Also note that the book is nothing "magical" - it simply states facts and in the end YOU need to make the choice, and more importantly YOU have to want to stop. I found increasing my exercise to twice a day (light jog in the morning and gym evenings) also helped a lot especially first couple of days

a few days from 2 years smoke free for me :)

Congradulations!!! what a wonderful feeling it is being free from those terrible terrible death sticks

BTW to those who are stopping , my cravings started to subside after two weeks. On the third week i had about 2-3 craving a day, which lasted maybe 30 seconds
After 2 months i hardly ever thought about smoking

And now i have , after 6 months , no cravings whilst around friends who smoke Even when drinking
Point being, there is a light at the end of the tunnel (omg bad pun) and things get better alot quick than what you might think!!

Do it , now!

In my case cold turkey was the way to go but, as has been said already, you must really want to stop. Once I reached that point it was easy, 20 years a smoker now 8 years a non-smoker.

Go visit some of the Emphysema patients at your local hospital and the lung cancer patients etc etc. That is enough to put anyone off smoking. My father was in hospital because of lung problems from smoking and we had a guy die in our car from emphysema - chronic smoker. That was enough to put me of it for life.
