Advice: Used car in motorplan issues

Yes, exactly the two are not related yet thats BMWs reasoning for refusing to repair within the motorplan. The exact reasoning was because the car has been resprayed, and the unit is water damaged it means someone tampered with the unit and they will not repair it under the motorplan. The unit is about 2 business days away from where the respraying was done.

They insist the unit was tampered with (they can't prove this) and thats why they won't repair it in motorplan. I have taken it up with the dealer but they want me to pay some of the cost which doesn't feel right as I bought the vehicle two months ago.
As I mentioned, BMW could technically have cancelled the MP due to the repair, but they didnt. Tread carefully with them.

If I were you;

Try to speak to the BMW DP - be polite and explain your predicament, see if they budge.
If not, your actual case lies with the dealer that sold you the car.
Personally I wouldn't fork out half for this "feature". Try see if you can buy the unit and get it coded to your car. Have the dealer pay for this and get it installed when your car is out of MP.

They had a whole investigation, had someone come out from BMW SA and everything. I'm gonna keep following up with the dealer to see if I can get to solution that doesn't involve me paying half of the crazy cost.

also : ask them to change the battery and see if it works (actually just read the comments what people have tried etc)

Hold them to it and don't give up.
Either the seller/dealership, BMWobbleu or the Telematics Co are liable.

Give them 7 days to respond failing which you are going the legal route and all over social media with the facts.
