Looking for a bit of advice as to what to study at unisa.

Im 29 years old, have 6 years experience in development (PHP mostly but I can program in pretty much any language) and have a diploma from CTI (Computer Science - Java / C /C++) and have recently become a development manager for a small/medium size company.

I want to study further part time and get the magical degree behind my name as well as broaden my knowledge of IT and management.

I had a look through the unisa courses and this one popped up "Bachelor of Science Information Technology and Computer Science: Information Technology Management Stream". Would this be the right degree to get considering my position and where I want to go or is there a better Bachelor of Science that would serve my purpose better?

Thanks for advice.

Unisa's BSc - Comp Sci( Techology Management stream)should cover all your bases with respect to management in an IT environment.

WOW that looks like exactly what I need. I see it is part time but I am based in Cape Town and flying to JHB to write exams will cost a bit much but ill definitely look into this. Any one know of anything similar in CT?

I assume you I talk about my post. Phone the JCSE they are very helpful, maybe they could recommend something to you.

I don't think you can register for any of those "streams" at Unisa any more.

"Bachelor of Science Information Technology and Computer Science: Information Technology Management Stream".

Was referring to this, those specific streams are being phased out.
