Hi

I need some advice. My wife runs a small business, which is heavily reliant on internet connectivty and having a business phone line. I went for ADSL but the stability of the line is just not good enough. Several times we have had outages for over a month which has resulted in serious loss of business and productivity. Telkom has shown no interest in fixing the issues, despite it being a business line. Currently, we are looking at around R600 a month for the telephone line (excluding calls), 10mbps ADSL and capped data from Axxess.

So to sum up I would be looking for something stable, around R500 - R700 a month, voice, around 10mbps with around 50gb of data a month.

My options are:
1. Wireless Broadband with someone like BitCo - but the prices seem way above the current budget.
2. Fibre - seems like the best option, but I am hesitent to get into a 24 month contract with Telkom. What would be the best way to approach this?
3. Mobile Broadband - once again, prices seem quite high.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If it's that reliant on internet should you not look at a combination of these solutions , so you have one as backup.

If you have a business account with Telkom insist on them sticking to the SLA even if it means they must give you an alternative service while the ADSL service is down for longer than 24 hours. They boast about being fully converged; force them to abide by their SLA.

So you technically would like a R2 500 solution, but only want to pay R 700? Don't we all....................

ADSL is best effort for business.

Be prepared to be disappointed at that budget.
Fibre is the way forward. So their are way outs of the contract.
