Geely E2 Apex, pull the trigger or am I going mad?

Yeah, FYI, if you want to buy one of these, do not buy them from Takealot as you will not get full charging speed.

There is a WhatsApp group for Geely owners where there is an electrician that sells the AC cables that are properly specced that can handle 22KW, as well as the VTL charger.

That seriously sucks you don't have a granny charger.
Why would you buy 22kw 3phase cable? Geely only does 6kw single phase via AC.

Thanks, I'm already on that group.

EVCharge sells 22kW AC charge cables. The Takealot ones seems to be drop shipped, probably from China. At least the ones I saw. Not taking a chance with that.

1 millions sales donem thats a E2 every min being sold!

Thats good news because at those volumes that means there'll be plenty of aftermarket parts support and repair solutions for many years to come

Would that charger need to be wired right back to the DB board or can it be plugged into a 15A plug socket?

So to be specific, we were talking about an AC charging cable that has the CCS connector on either end.

Looks like this.

That is the cable that connects most public AC chargers to your car.

The chargers that you use at home usually come with their own cables. They are either granny chargers, which are your level 1 chargers, and those are limited to 3kW (the electronics in them tell the car to not pull more than 3kW). Those you can plug into any 16A socket, and if you are careful a thick extension cable.

Then there are the level 2 chargers, which are 7kW, and those need to be wired into the DB board.
