Hello all,

Stumbled across a thread, quite by chance, about SSD firmware updates...

Clean forgot about that. Just checked my Crucial M500 - seems I'm behind, with new firmware being released towards the end of 2013.

Did a bit of Googling - fair to say, it's quite the process (the updating, that is).

Question -- is this really necessary? If all is working as I expect, is there any good reason to take the plunge? What do the rest of you do? Update regularly - leave it be, unless something unusual starts happening?

Back when SSD's first surfaced, I did a firmware update and it seemed to perform better. But doubt it you will need an update unless something goes haywire now days. So I suggest leave it for now.

Mine was an old Muskin 60gb which i paid R2,400 for !!! eeek.. she is only 1/2 alive these days.. OS won't install on it anymore.
