Erm doesn't the Xbox controller need a dongle to work on PC?

I know PS one work via Bluetooth... never used an Xbox controller on PC before?

Use to have a Xbox One controller waaay back that needed a dongle. Since then I swapped it + dongle for a PS2 + games and bought a 8Bitdo for the PC.

Works as advertised.
Only bought it because I have both Xbox and PS5 and did not want 100's of docks lying around.
