Well this seems to have trundled off into oblivion 
So for those people who reckon that not enough restitution has been made by the formerly advantaged people of South Africa, how much is enough? Would owning slaves, segregation and an actual reverse apartheid do it? If so, for how many years?

Eish, one will have to look at what apartheid has done during all these decades it lasted. I'm sure apartheid was designed to last for eternity. How many years will it take to reverse it? A good estimate would be, longer than it lasted. I personally hope its much shorter!!!

They were anything but proud.well then anyone calling themself stupid should not be allowd to be called a Afrikaaner thenwe as Afrikaaners have pride and dignity ... and they can't take that away form us no matter how hard they try ...

They handed the reigns of the country over to the ANC overnight and sold out their people over night. I am not saying that i disagree with the way things went but if I was one of them, I would be feeling rather pissed at how they were sold out. Next thing many of their so called leaders join the ANC.
Again I am not Afrikaans so I don't care either way.

You are, of course, suggesting that only Afrikaans people belonged to the NP.
And you are implying that ALL Afrikaans people belonged to the NP.
So no other language speaking persons belonged to the NP?
And no Afrikaans speaking persons belonged to the ANC, DP, etc.

1: it doesnt mean that if a person speak Afrikaans that he is a Afrikaaner ....
2: The They that you mention is the NP "noël party" they are a bunch of Afrikaans speaking people that is a total waste of white skin.
3: Handed over that you got right ... and in my eyes and in the eyes of many Afrikaaners they are traitors and should have been hunted down and killed for high treason.

So lui 'n stokou grappie waaroor middeljariges van vandag destyds in hulle kindertyd gelag het - min vermoedend dat hierdie situasie nog in hulle leeftyd 'n werklikheid sou word.
Baie mense beskou blykbaar diefstal en roof as heel aanvaarbaar, jy moet net beweer jy was daartoe gedryf deur honger, gebrek, apartheid of die waan dat jou oer-voorouers onderdruk was.
Laat ons dus maar vandag oor 'n paar sake reguit praat:
'n Mens steel nie omdat jy honger of arm is nie - jy steel omdat jy skelm is. Niemand was nog ooit in hierdie land so volledig onderdruk soos die Boerevolk na die Tweede Vryheidsoorlog nie.
Ons voorouers wat die oorlog en die konsentrasiekampe oorleef het, het na die doodse leegheid van vernietigde plase teruggekeer - uitgehonger, hartseer en verpletter.Maar hulle het nie geroof en gemoor en gesteel nie. Hulle het met harde werk, deursettingsvermoë en swaarkry so presteer dat hulle weldra nie net hulleself nie, maar ook hulle huidige onderdukkers, goed kon versorg.
Toe hulle kinders in Engelse skole gestop is en gestraf is as hulle dit durf waag het om Afrikaans te praat, het hulle nie klippe gegooi en skole afgebrand en geweld gepleeg nie.
Hulle het hard geleer, hulle eie CNO-skole gestig en uiteindelik bo uitgekom sodat die Boerevolk vandag vir niemand op akademiese, tegnologiese of wetenskaplike gebied terug hoef te staan nie.
'n Mens moor nie omdat jy voorheen benadeel is of omdat jou werkgewer jou nie tederlik genoeg behandel nie - 'n mens moor omdat jy 'n barbaar is wat nie verdien om deel van die samelewing te wees nie.
Na die Tweede Vryheidsoorlog het Boere-mynwerkers absoluut geen regte gehad het nie en moes hulle gesinne met minder as 'n hongerloon probeer onderhou. Maar hulle het nie bejaardes gaan doodmartel en gesinne uitgemoor nie.
'n Mens word nie 'n agtergeblewene omdat iemand anders nie genoeg vir jou doen nie. 'n Mens word 'n agterblyer omdat jy nie presteer nie. Niemand het die Boerevolk na die Tweede Vryheidsoorlog vooruit gehelp nie - ons het self gewerk en volhard om sukses te behaal.
En elke ding wat ons het, het ons verwerf - apartheid het nooit plase en poste en posisies aan Boeremense uitgedeel nie.
As alles altyd vir jou verkeerd loop sodat jy voel jy maak nooit enige vordering nie, is dit dalk 'n goeie gedagte om op te hou soek wie anders as jy self vir al jou ellende verantwoordelik is. Ruk jou reg en presteer jouself in die voorspoed in.
En dit geld vir ons eie mense ook. Net ons eie werk, prestasie en geloof gaan bepaal of ons as agterblyers in die vergetelheid gaan wegsink en of ons weer as trotse, beskaafde, gerespekteerde volk sal opstaan.
Selfs in die nuwe Suid-Afrika is daar steeds geleenthede vir vindingryke, geesdriftige mense wat bereid is om hard te werk en vir hulleself 'n toekoms los te spook.
Mag die Boerevolk nooit pateties raak nie.

After this the party's support declined as a proliferation of rightwing parties siphoned off important segments of its traditional voter base. Throughout its reign, the party's support came mainly from Afrikaners, but Anglo-Africans were courted by and increasingly voted for the National Party after 1960."
So yes by joining the ranks of the ANC and by giving away the gvt, they sold their people out. Sorry but that's history.

I think it was very unfair that my post got deleted. It had to do with what happened at the university and had my opinions, but no racism. Please delete this post then if it had...
I was there on campus and encouraged many people to support the FF+'s initiative. I'm not a FF+ representative or activist however. What happens there is satire and cannot be enjoyed or understood by people who feel it 'undermines their humanity' or something.
Here's the point: we do not live in a democracy in this country. Any fool of government that convinces you otherwise is lieing. We represent a mixture of different political systems all entrenched in line of thought that we are a democracy because everyone gets to vote. Democracy is a generally accepted system by western civilisation. For it to work though, it assumes that everyone is well capable of logic reasoning (education, your beliefs, your circumstances and your intellect develops your wisdom.)
My opinion still stands: I believe that the Freedom Front is capable of being a better government than the ANC. Also the DA and maybe even the IFP and ID. The Freedom Front is not the government now, because the majority vote detemines the government, not because they don't deserve it. Very shallow level of thought that.
