To keep things short. I used Afrihost for a while now and were prepared to pay the extra. I use a monthly 1GB account+top up's. Yesterday my monthly IGB was capped (used) so I called in and thereafter topped up with 1GB (I was hard capped and could not use client zone). So I get an E-mail saying that I used 1023.998 (50%) of my now 2GB monthly allocation. Great. So this morning I got an e-mail stating that I now used 1.807GB of my 2GB allocation (200MB left). So I was going to wring some kids neck, then I looked at my bandwidth used logs as tally by Afrihost and noted that Yesterday I used only 97MB. So to my surprise I note that on the 2nd I suddenly used 1.55 GB of my 1GB cap I had. Now I was very surprised that the initial 1GB flew so fast, normally Afrihost cap within 0.25 GB. Now the second 1GB just disappeared back to the 2'nd before I topped up?

here is my usage

Date Dnl (MB) Upl (MB) Total (MB)
8/1/2010 11.584 135.988 135.988
8/2/2010 52.391 1606.304 1742.292
8/3/2010 15.813 99.766 1842.057
8/4/2010 1.903 9.961 1852.018

Looking at that figures I suddenly UPLOADED 1.606 GB on the 2'nd after I topped up 1Gb on the 3'rd. Their confirmation automated Top-Up mail did not say the same.

So I called in, a chap answered and I asked the obvious, why was there 500MB of my new 1GB on the 3'rd reallocated back to the 2'nd, At first he stated they had a major issue/crash/problems at the time. Then he looked at my logs an can for the hell of it not see the problem. The logs say ......

Now he wants me to send an E-mail so his manager can decide whether I used the extra 500MB.

I uploaded nothing from my side AFAIK.

Sorry Afrihost I waste no more time on your Fiasco. It's easier for me to cancel that account than write you an e-mail. I am tired of your incompetence and automated fiasco. I cannot keep abreast of your issues anymore.

Cheers Afrihost

Hello Axxess?

Mweb? Nah!

Hooray for month to month services and no contracts! Incompetence can be punished at will.

I had the same problem.

Change your modem's and afrihost username's passwords, was fixed then. Make sure you give your modem a password something else than "admin".

And when you have finished that, run around your desk five times and do three press-ups. Works every time.
