Yes, I could watch the rugby, cricket etc with very few issues. With AH DNS, its a real mess.

I've used Google DNS for about 8 months now, but it did not enhance or degrade my streaming experience much, if at all, so I doubt this is where the problem is.

there was no throughput but it came back up now
this morning at 6 am there was no authentication but after a while it started working

Theoretically yes, it should make no difference.

I am wondering however if using the OpenDNS does not mean that he gets directed to a different Streaming Server.

Would you mind running a traceroute to the streaming service using the two different DNS options, I really want to see where things go off with the Afrihost DNS.

I was streaming via Supersport. I am not in the office today, but I asked my secretary to do a speed test and international seems to be slow again, and anything on youtube seems to be buffering even on the lowest quality. It still seems like the AH network is a mess and useless during office hours. I have send so many tests and no one ever gets back to me, so I don't see the point anymore. its delaying tactics, and a waste of my time. Fix the network, its been a mess for far too long. My loyalty and frustration is really being tested.

I can attest that I had a similar experience back when I was with Telkom. Telkom and Google's DNS would route things in a similar manner, but Google's DNS took a different path for some services (like Youtube and Gmail). Switching to OpenDNS was all that I could do to improve connectivity during those months when it went tits-up. Now that I'm using UnoDNS I generally have no problems, so I haven't had to switch from that in a long time.

How are your download and streaming speeds like at the moment?

Ok, so I have posted, sent a mail to customer care and PMd with some results ....

Is anyone going to look at my problem, or is this my silent treatment day?

I am sorry if I have upset anyone - but I do have an issue that needs to be looked at.
Last week we were sure it was Telkom. It is not.

A simple acknowledgement that you have recieved my message at this point would even do ......

My apologies, I definitely did receive your PM, I am just working through all of the results that I have received so far, and getting it to the appropriate people. I should get to your results in the next few minutes.

Currently, **** is working so well I'm wondering if you're using whips to spank my bits along. I have no complaints with how things are going today. Downloading Windows Technical Preview from Microsoft at 210KB/s on my 2Mb line. Whatever you do, don't let anyone press the big red button today.

dead again
this is pissing us off now we have people trying to work on this line
looks like international is up to crap as well
