Mod_note: These threads are clearly designed/intended for customers to provide feedback to their respective ISPs - not for disgruntled former customers to vent, not for other ISPs to promote their services, etc - and, one hopes, for the relevant ISP to respond.

Still being throttled to 350kbps on torrents, all night long. Infuriating.

Internet is actually usable this morning. Now to see how long it lasts. Come 09:00 I suspect it will drop dead again.

We're seeing much better realtime performance, but there could still be areas of contention. With the optimisation of traffic, this is probably going to affect torrents and P2P more.

Good to hear :)

I am currently with you guys

As of late these, these are the excuses I have had.

1. There is a port problem which we have reset, please restart your modem and let us know if everything improves, this has been on a few occasions lately.
2. No internet due to authentication issues, this too has happened a lot over the past few months.
3. IOS updates!
4. Latency issues

This morning while I was trying to do online chat with crystal, the chat box kept refreshing, and trying to connect.....

Your problems have been going on for a VERY long time guys!

...and there it is. This quote is a confirmation that AH is shaping business accounts.
Thanks for telling the truth, for once. AH might want to send out an email to ALL business clients apologising for the run-around and double-speak over the last month.

Business accounts should NEVER be prioritised on ANY protocol by AH... only the user/client should be able to enforce this restriction through the CZ panel :wtf:

Agreed, that's what why we took the business package...

I agree! I could have taken a 10Mbps Home account for basically the same price and my 4Mbps Business account.
We pay extra because we expect more support (and data ;)) than home users.
But these days I can't even connect with my line going down constantly so wouldn't know if there is any shaping happening on the account :(

I am expecting problems up to December . The problem at the moment is CAPACITY . But Afrihost doesn't want to buy more capacity so they are trying to manipulate the capacity that they got and use Client Relationships Officers ( Afri/something ) for retation of the clients ( I hope they are giving them a good commision like other companies ). December up to the middle of Jenuary - No problem . Then for two months they will blame Telkom . After that they'll get more capacity and will come up with new specials and so on .

So wouldn't this be a breach of contract, therefore we should be entitled to a 100% refund for the last two months....

From past history, if you manage to get a refund from them, they will then cancel your account(s) and blacklist you. ie. you will never be able to use them as an ISP again. This has happened to a few in the past :(

Disappointed in locking the last thread. Let discussions take place, especially when there is no outright hostility was occuring. Hell, if you cited it being 741 pages long that would less of a sour taste than the spunk of moderation wielded.

But that's the only reason it got locked - the thread length.

Hi guys. I bought 50GB of data last month to test AH and the performance was shocking. How does the business uncapped compare to the capped accounts is we look at performance?

slightly clueless comment IMHO.

At the moment performance is pretty shocking too. You are lucky if you can get about 50% of your line speed. When AH didn't have issues, it was pretty good.

Seems to be working as it should, finally.
After two months of really bad "speeds" and shocking performance, downloaded data is currently sitting at 41GB for two days worth of downloads.

As Captain Jack Sparrow once said, "Much more better."

Glad to hear things are looking up :)
