The email I received stating AH has ordered extra capacity has now been confirmed via telephone.

There you have it folks. They have not enough capacity, but still swear blindly to the public that that is not the problem.

Smells like 2013 all over again, and once again they waited until it was too late. Oooo golly!!

@Afriguy, this true?

Question now is whether I should buy another 50GB to test?

I wouldn't believe anything the AH reps say on here, I was promised by Afriguy that critical care would contact this morning and I am still waiting...
After quite a few forumites have said repeatedly that we are being shaped, we were told that business accounts are not shaped...then this morning Afriguy says that traffic is being optimized....

Hey guys

Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday so far :)
Let me know just in here quickly before the rumour mill starts spinning out of control.

This was discussed quite a bit last night, to confirm though:
No additional capacity has been ordered, however IPC upgrades are always inevitable. It's something that grows with our business - so there's always an upgrade process taking place.

I need to stress, no additional capacity has been confirmed though.

Mail contents between our team and one of our clients is being openly discussed here, and I think has been misinterpreted. We chatted to the relevant teams, and we're all on the same page going forward.

As always, the minute there's an additional feedback around our network we'll have it posted up here.

Have a good one ladies and gents :)

The email snippet in question is pasted below. It leaves zero room for interpretation.

"I have the most recent feedback from our Management Team, in summary:

Apart from the recent increase in bandwidth demand, the devices Afrihost uses to manage our ADSL network needed software updates before more capacity could be ordered.
The software updated have been done and and Afrihost has ordered more capacity throughout all regions.

There isn't an ETA on additional capacity; but it has been ordered."

Well dont see how that can be misinterpreted

We're seeing much better realtime performance, but there could still be areas of contention. With the optimisation of traffic, this is probably going to affect torrents and P2P more.

No worries, already cancelled.

Anyone else having problems accessing international sites?

Skype, Microsoft, CNN, Google are all offline, Local is fine...

Can't see any general issues around those services, do you have any tests I can look at?

I just had two minutes of zero throughput. Line was fine, account was logged in, everything was working up until two minutes ago and then throughput came back all of a sudden.

Seems fairly straight forward....

Same here, just international though. All is well again.
