new customer here, just got my 2mb biz account. tried a torrent to see the no shaping in action... 1kB/s is this normal?

Go to the new clientzone (https://clientzone.afrihost.com/en/) and go to your uncapped connection. From there - click on Protocol Prioritisation and disable it :) PP is a feature for business owners who do not want P2P on their connection - but it's completely voluntary :D

Haha no probs :D Suggest it on using suggestions button at the bottom of the CZ page - there is so much stuff to squeeze in, but not enough space :P

Just switched to business uncapped today from home. This was driving me nuts! Thanks for the info. Everything back to normal.

worst part, I actually contacted thier support about my torrents going at 1kB and they did not even inform me about this.

My suggestion would be promp/inform the user on sign up about this feature and save yourself a lot of frustrated Afrihost Business users down the line.

No connection for the last few hours. Extremely erratic connection when it does work. I could not even open this forum via my PC, so resorting to using my phone.

New Year's resloution: hunt down any Hellscum techs in the area and force them to fix the damned line problem.

Anyone else getting very poor YouTube steaming? Just signed up for the 4mbps Business Uncapped bundle and it's battling to buffer even SD stuff.

Hi, no issues that I'm aware of. I'm watching youtube as we speak and no buffering on 720 or 1080p on my business uncapped 4mb line.

For the last 2 months already and I am on the 6Mb account.
Sometimes it will be fine in the first quarter of the vid, then it will buffer like mad, even on 360p. Other times I will have to let the vids buffer for at least 15 minutes if I set them to 480p or 720p.

But that's your ADSL problem with Telkom and has nothing to do with AH...

@Fudzy: All good here. 4Mbit account too
 
Does anyone know when new IPs get assigned? Is it at a certain time for everone or different per-user?

I think you have to disconnect for 15 minutes before you'll get a new IP. Ive stuck with the same IP for months :D

We aren't seeing any general issues on our end, have things improved since posting?
If not, paste up a traceroute here and we'll have a look at things.
