According to Afrihost I have used 500mb today. Problem is that I wasn't even home until lunchtime and thereafter the only thing anyone did was a bit of browsing (not youtube).

A friend also signed up with them this afternoon and a couple of hours after the account was activated shows 300mb usage when all she did was log on to News24 and Gmail.

They say it is just a lag in updating Internet Solutions usage stats but I didn't use that much today, and neither did my friend - so regardless of the lag it surely can't be accurate.

Anyone else having an issue or have advice for me?

Nope, definitely not auto updaters and wifi is encrypted.

I always monitor my useage carefully. It is showing the same stats as days when I had uTorrent running for hours, which makes no sense.

OK, so that basically eliminates any problems on your side. Maybe submit a support ticket to find out if they are aware of such problems.

Seems mine’s also higher than what it’s supposed to be for today, the Bandwith program I use says I downloaded 224mb and uploaded 47mb today, Afrihost reports 446mb down and 94mb up.

Mnnn….. maybe I’ll submit a ticked and see what they have to say.

Yeah my netmeter also gives totally different stats to theirs on the site...

Data transferred this WEEK - 600mb... lovely

Submitted a ticket yesterday. They just sent me the usual standard nonsense about checking data logs in the client zone etc. Basically saying "it isn't us"

What a bunch of rubbish! Yesterday I had 1.3gigs left of my afrihost.

I then downloaded Allods online (619mb downloaded so far)

Last night it said I had 200mbs or so left then this morning it said I had gone over by 300mbs.

Afrihost is starting to piss me off cause their meter is totally wrong I know for a fact I used about 700-800 mbs (Downloading with a bit of browsing and youtube)

And now all of a sudden 300mbs over??? This is a bunch of BS!

I gave them a call and the guy I spoke to agreed it seemed a bit strange - I also directed him to this thread. He says that they will look into it...

I don't know if this whole thing with SEACOM is affecting it somehow, but I was downloading so slowly yesterday (4meg line at only 30kb/s).

And the webpages barely even loaded up after forever yet somehow I used 1.3gigs?

Not possible.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with this issue.

If you have this problem please make sure you log a ticket with them online. The more complaints they get the more likely something will be done about it.

Doesn't help me at the moment though given that I only have 40mb for the next 3 days. Could top up but seems unfair to pay extra when I would have had enough to get to the end of the month, not to mention that international connectivity is shot to *****.

I called them and they claim innocence. Waiting for the logs to arrive.

Same problem had about 3 gigs left last night downloaded about 1.4gig and got to my pc this morning telling me that my account is suspended, checked their logs and i was also about 300mb over. Thank goodness for the 2 for 1 atm :)

Okay, so I just got home and it appears I have an extra 220mb available so they must have sorted it out...
