Over the last few week I have had very poor and erratic throughput in Cape Town from Afrihost. I Am on a very good 20 meg VDSL line, each time I have spoken to an agent I get the same story of, let's resync line ... Nothing changes. Interesting these issues only started happening after the new double data deal was launched. I bought some test data from webafrica and logged in, everything is perfect, I have the best throughput. It now surfaces that there is an IPC issue in Cape Town. Afrihost new this yet went agent with the double data deal rendering our service useless in Cape Town due to even higher demand. I have called afrihost, tried to engage, supervisors said they would get back to me but did not. Out of desperation I raised and hellopeter complaint, the answer ignored my entire complaint. Yesterday I tried using afrihost for a while and saw various domains were not reachable ( garmin.com, itunes ...) and this was not a DNS issure either. I am now forced after years of being with afrihost to move to another ISP. It's such a pity as they seem to have forgotten about their customers! The call centre seems to also be in a shambles.

It is a well documented fact that AH is waiting for an IPC upgrade in Cape Town.
The upgrades are expected on the 10th of April, if all goes according to plan.

Not sure why the Helpdesk is giving you the run around.

@ Afri-anyone -
IPC issue -

05/04/2014 I phone help and after 45 mins on phone - this is the result
I can connect using SAIX guest account and I get Ping = 14mS and SAIX line speed of 8.88Mbps all good for a 10Meg line.

Lets try Afr-ghost login:
Ping 24mS and line speed of 1.8Meg

Oh sorry sir we will have to log a fault with Telkom as there is something wrong with the line.....

That is why the give us the run-around they have no vakking clue
