Afrihost CAPPED ADSL Feedback (MTN)

Twitch.tv has been problematic for some time, as have a few other streaming services, that was partly why the update was pushed through last weekend.

Is there any noticeable different in streaming speed between your PC and the Twitch.tv App on a mobile device?

See my previous post. It is still not near viable to watch it through my 10Mbps Afrihost capped account.

That's exactly why a few people haven't more than a few hours over the past week, updates that should be working are not resolving the issue as it stands.

You make it sound like this has only been happening recently. As I've said before for the entire time I've been with you I've always had this streaming issue. Every time I bring it up I get something along the lines of "we are working on it" and then nothing ever happens.

It feels like you guys are taking what I say and throwing in the bin. My apologies if you are actually working on resolving this but for 3 years I've been waiting and for 3 years there has been absolutely no improvement. This is how it seems on my end. :/

I certainly cannot attest to what we were doing about streaming three years ago, but it is something we are hoping gets improved across the board by the new iteration of the software that our Team is in the process of loading.

After ages of hearing that please excuse me for not having faith in that comment. :/

:(

I really am sorry that you feel that way about us, I certainly hope we can work towards restoring that faith.

I think I have the answer, they have be testing Afrihost+ on the Capped users:

No Capping on Capped DSL
With Afrihost Plus+ you will not get cut off when you run out of DSL Data. Your connection will simply be slowed down to 128kbps download speed. This means you can still access the Internet and do all the basics such as internet banking, emails, instant messaging and more - even if you have used all your Capped DSL data.
The software glitch must have applied it every evening with out looking to see if we had data available :)

If only it were that easy...

I did just check with our Team, and it definitely was not that. You did have me worried for a moment though.

And Capped Afrihost is completely dead as a donkey in CT...

Look at hope 3-5 - completely dead.

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider

Cannot update Origin, GeForce driver or do anything else with my line it's so damn slow.

Nicely done Afrihost. Nicely done. Now I can finally understand how certain clients can become glad to be rid of a service.

I have been running on Telkom since AH Cape Town died last night and wont be switching back till good comments start appearing in the thread again.

There is a problem again on our 40Mb line -_- (10Mb line seems to be downloading at full speed on origin)

Our Team is pushing through a number of changes now to the management software, your speeds should start picking up in the next hour.

But we have heard this statement for how long now.

Got to the box and format c:

I have sent pm to 3 of the afrihost reps regarding pausing account and still being able to use my data until month end. I posted the same question here and quoted it again before sending it via pm. And still no answer?

Here is the same AH account connected to different lines.

Lovely.

For the love of Spock just reload the old software, the software used in June, before the "tweaking" and "optimizing" and "profile allocationing" and whatever-else-a-ning the boffins at Afrihost felt they had to do to "improve" the experience. It just seems to perpetually languish in this "monitoring" and "will improve soon" phase. Months and months of this mulberry bush skip and dance routine.

There is very little difference between the erratic rubbish internet on this account now and that during the iOS 8 update crunch. Spurts of usability drowned by complete and utter foobar.

Enough already!!! FFS
