Where are you seeing packet loss?
Can you post an MTR test?
Will do tonight if it happens again. Only really noticed it on TeamSpeak and CSGO. It happened on Monday night too, from about 7-11pm.

I captured these traces last night when experiencing the drop in speed

All looks pretty normal here. Do you have another account to test and see if the drops are replicated there too, tonight?
I haven't done a trace with another account but I have done speed tests with another account and I see the same speed drop.
I think that'll be the next step![]()
If the speeds and details are replicated it'll indicate an issue on the exchange/ line.
Ok
I've been speaking to Afriman
He is going to log a slow speed fault with Telkom
Has anyone on here been down this road before? WRT having a call logged with Telkom, what is the general turnaround time for a response or resolution?

Response times are up to Telkom and their current workload/ availability in the area.
Yep I had it too again last night. Although not as bad, was now only between 5-15% loss. Much better than the 20-50% I had the night before. Even the MMO I was playing last night started to be affect. Was getting 250 - 300 ping when I normally get about 180.
The weird part is if I do a ping test via cmd no packets get lost. It only happens IN GAME for me and at night.
Would that be LoL or WoW?
I had the same issue with Quake Live last night, where ping to the server shows no packet loss, however the network graph in the game clearly showed packet loss of roughly 5-10%.Yep I had it too again last night. Actually SWtOR. Not really a huge fan of MMO's and swtor is written well enough and designed well enough to be played a decent SP game. It helps that I'm a star wars fan![]()

If you simply look at the average ping, it was still low at 40ms to JHB from CPT area, and packet loss was only visible on the game's network graph and how it affected gameplay at random times.
Coming here to give good feedback for once. Since the announcement of the latest network improvements, my Afrihost account has been perfect after performing poorly relative to all my other ISPs for months prior to that. Very stable pings in games, consistently high download speeds and the ability to stream through Twitch on high quality for the first time ever without having to buffer.
However, I'm still really torn about staying on due to the introduction of Afrihost plus and having to pay more for less data relative to Webafrica, which too has been consistently good for me.
Haven't played that in ages.
You seen the new teaser trailer?
Hhhmm, was TS and CSGO performing OK late last week?
